The Village Haul

by 3arn0wl

Following Justin Case’s recent find, Arky-ologists from the university have been down on the banks of the Bredy with their buckets and spades,  building sand castles sifting sand.

You wouldn’t believe the things they found:

  • and the bones of a cow. :/

Looks like the Moores are having a Barbie.

On Balance

by 3arn0wl

The scholars at the Little Sniffy CofE Primary School are studying averages.   They’ve worked out that June is the median month,  that today is the median day of the year,  and most excitingly of all,  that the most important moment in this portentous day is in a few minutes:  lunch time!

Meanwhile @ Poppleton High Murray Merryweather seized the moment to pivot to balancing loads.  Taking his classes outside,  he got the Year 8s on seesaws,  measuring where they had to sit on the pivot to balance.  Some saw it as an end of year doss lesson, but Oli and Justin enjoyed it.

Today’s a turning point for lorry driver Ray Burns too.  No more seemingly impossible reversing maneuvers with the tanker,  he’s been head-hunted to join a think tank.

And the twins?  Well Janus-like: Rose continues to look back at her ancestry,  whilst Evan looks forward to the new season with the Chorley Wanderers:  he’s joined their youth squad.

Not a clue!

by 3arn0wl

She was sure he’d thought you just arranged to go somewhere nice with a mate and paid for the pop and crisps.  And all that was very enjoyable of course,  but she’d got other things planned too!

And boy was he surprised! In fact he thought a less broad-minded individual might’ve been shocked about some of the things that’d happened:  some nice, some gross and all of them dead embarrassing!

But how was he supposed to know what went on on a first date?  It was his first first date, after all!

Perfect Numbers

by 3arn0wl

Garry Baldie used the digits he always used – and won a Godiva on the scratch cards;

Emily & Alistair (and Yan) have invited ᗡႱ & JD and Joe round for a meal. They reckon they’ve got the balance about right.

Antonín Biskup likes 1.61:1. He uses the proportions wherever he can;

Tom Bell gets excited by what he considers to be a perfect number – 362436;

And Justin thinks it’s the perfect date to go on a first date with Oli.

Father’s Day

by 3arn0wl

& Fr. Jamesbrother came to visit.  They reminisced about their late father and had crumpets for tea.

Poppy’s nipped over to di godfather’s with her kid.  He’s asked her to sit for him.

Justin Case gave his granddad the pole tacks he’d found whilst panning in the Bredy last Tuesday.

Rose Wood presented Dawn Redwood to her father.  He really wasn’t expecting a family tree.

And as Lord Rupert ascended the staircase in the Great Hall, he admired once more each of the paintings of his …. …..!

Blessed are the geeks: for they shall inherit the Earth

by 3arn0wl

Will was going to spend the day programming his new Raspberry – and when (after about a quarter of an hour) he realises he can’t do that, he’ll watch all six Star Wars films, one after another.

Justin Case’s cut some lilac to wear. He’s got a hard-boiled egg and treacle sandwiches in his packed lunch, which he’s going to eat at the cenotaph with Hugh.

ᗡႱ will be modeling his dressing gown and carrying his towel all day. He’s going to read the latest anthology of Vogon Love Poetry to JD later.

As for Ivy Newbrush, she’ll be playing Angry Birds at every opportunity.
