is Independents’ Day in Poppleton!

Gaia Daley was offering complimentary toast for breakfast;

There’s a free screening this afternoon @ the Picturehouse;

And a digestif on the house @ the Dew Drop Inn after dinner.

But,  perhaps most excitingly of all,  throughout the day Fred’s Treads are having a car boot sale!

The Dew Drop Inn continues in the same quirky vein.

An American couple arrived for a short stay in the Royal Suite.

They were given a draughts board when they asked to check in;

When they requested a porter, they were a little surprised to be served a pint of sludge-brown liquid;

And upon inquiring where the ‘rest room’ was, they were shown to their bedroom.

They’ve ordered waffles for breakfast – hope Vic Aler isn’t getting Lilly Watts in.

Seeing double @ the Dew Drop Inn?  They’ve got a 2 – 4 – 1 offer on during “Happy Hour”.

Michelle Biskup’s got a bump. She’s now the First Assistant Deputy to the Acting Manager (with special responsibility for French Letters).

And Evan Wood suffered a bout of crapulence, having eaten a whole bar of what he thought was chocolate.  He’s definitely pro-motion.

But it’s nearing the end of the season,  and things are not looking good for the Chorley Wanderers

On her whey home from a productive meeting with Barry Frier @ theDew Drop Inn, Minnie Driver

A really cheesey idea’s just occurd to her, and she intends to milk it for all its worth! 😉

Perhaps Tricia Lowe’s llama’s milk would make a semi-soft, crumbly blue!

Wooden delivery

Joe Appleby set up stall @ the craft market yesterday:

Inspired by his sister’s pregnancy, he’s designed and made a number of beautiful things to sell:

Unsurprisingly,  he’d sold all his work by noon,  so he decided to have lunch at the Dew Drop Inn.  Of course he ordered his favourite: …. …… … …..

Juan Mann noticed that the hawthorn had joined the daffodils in delivering their Springtime splendour.

Alistair Crookes has been keeping watch over his flock by night,  and taking delivery of the first lambs of the season.

Rosie Barriclough’s been out delivering cards, letters and packages.  There’s a big one for Jenny Darling. 😉

Mrs. M.P. Robinson’s Hedge Fund has been significantly augmented with the arrival of six million trees to plant.

And the Dew Drop Inn is once again fully booked, welcoming guests for a comfortable stay.   The region is teeming with visitors eager to see the standing stones,  the castle,  the Biscuit Line and Lord Rupert’s Pile.
