Hey! Wayne.

Michelle Castle’s Czech friend, Antonín Biskup, happily occupied his day on the banks of the Bredy yesterday; palette in one hand, brush in the other.

His oil-on-canvas depicts a pastoral scene: DJ John Deer’s tractor and trailer loaded with hay, crossing the Ford, under the brooding sky. He’s immortalised  Lilly Watts’ Cottage there on the left bank – she was born in that house and has never left it for more than a few days.  The converted water-mill behind him belongs to Sergeant John Constable of course.

Biskup had worked on the painting feverishly all day, and had it finished by the time Michelle joined him after work. He asked her to marry him as he gave it to her.
