Police raided the Old Forge in Upper Snodding early this morning.

It remains unclear what they were looking for, but witnesses say that they carried away some very large, metal objects, and a number of boxes of paperwork.

“We were acting on a tip-off,” Sgt. John Constable, from the Fraud Squad said. “Apparently there are some detailed replicas in circulation, and our source maintains they emanate from here.”

Artists, Bill and Gerry Wainwright, have lived and worked at the Old Forge for the last five years.  Both her sculpture and his water-colours are extremely collectible and sales have been very good.

“I can’t think what the police want with a load of scrap iron,” a neighbour mused, “but at least they’ve cleaned that back yard up.”
